graduates cohort 2

The Bitcoin & The Future of Money event was a huge success, bringing together over 60 attendees at YOTA, East Legon, for a day filled with learning, networking, and financial empowerment.

Organized by Bitfiasi, the event focused on Bitcoin education, financial literacy, and helping women take control of their financial future. It was also a celebration of 44 women who graduated from Bitfiasi’s Bitcoin for Beginners program, a major step in making Bitcoin knowledge accessible to more people in Ghana.

An Event to Remember

From the start, the energy in the room was positive and engaging. The event began with Gideon Kombian, Executive Director of Bitfiasi, welcoming attendees and sharing Bitfiasi’s journey. He spoke about why financial literacy is no longer a luxury but a necessity, and how Bitcoin can be a tool for financial freedom, not just trading.

The event featured powerful speakers who shared valuable insights on Bitcoin, investing, and financial independence. Some of the key sessions included:

  • Bitcoin 101 – Breaking down Bitcoin in simple terms
  • Smart Money Habits for Women – Learning to save, invest, and manage finances wisely
  • Why women should Invest in Bitcoin – How women can uniquely position themselves to benefit from bitcoin
  • Building wealth in Bitcoin using DCA – How to approach Bitcoin as a long-term investment
  • Risk Management & Trading Psychology – Avoiding common mistakes in investing

Celebrating 44 New Bitcoin Graduates

A major highlight of the event was the graduation ceremony for 44 women who successfully completed Bitfiasi’s 7-week Bitcoin for Beginners program.

What did they learn?

  • How Bitcoin works and why it matters
  • The basics of saving and investing wisely
  • How to safely store Bitcoin
  • How Bitcoin can be used beyond trading

For many of the graduates, this was their first step into the world of Bitcoin and financial empowerment.

“Before this course, I thought Bitcoin was a scam. Now, I understand how it works and feel confident making financial decisions.” – Magdalene, A Bitfiasi Graduate

The Future of Bitfiasi

At the end of the event, Sena Ami, Bitfiasi’s Programs Director, spoke about the next steps for Bitfiasi and the new opportunities ahead.

What’s Next?

  • More school & community outreach – Teaching Bitcoin in high schools and communities
  • Workshops & mentorship programs – Helping more women take charge of their finances
  • Community Outreach – Helping women in less privileged communities learn about money management and teaching skills they can earn income from.

Bitfiasi is also seeking partnerships and sponsorships from organizations that share its vision of financial literacy and inclusion through Bitcoin education.
